I wonder what it would be like
To be a butterfly
With silken wings to flutter about
On wind as soft as a sigh
To dance about with abandon
Over flowers and on air
To a song that only they can hear
Something joyous that they share
With the multitudes of colour
That alight upon their wings
To fly about for the world to see
They are fragile beautiful things
So I wonder what it would be like
To be a butterfly
With silken wings of colour
Floating on air as soft as a sigh.
